Donovan is months ahead of schedule and is walking with just a slight limp. His main goal is to be in top form for for the 1999 Pan Am Games being held in Winnipeg in July. He also intends to compete at the 1999 Canadian championships but not the world indoor championships in Japan in March stating that he doesn't wish to rush things.

Bailey says he is convinced he can return from his ruptured achilles tendon injury in time to race at the Pan-Am Games, get back on top and stay on top through the Sydney Olympics and through to the 2001 World Track and Field Championships in Edmonton.

We will probably see Donovan finish his track career around that time. What a better way to do it than to do it at home.

Bailey's Season Has Completed
August 1998

Donovan Bailey has decided not to run again this year opting to rehabilitate and focus on regaining his form for next year.

Bailey has undergone a number of injuries and hasn't been at his prime this year, though he still has been running better than the average sprinter.

Congratulations to Donovan on a good season and let's look forward to another great season next year!
