MILAN, Italy (Donovan Bailey WWWsite) -- Bailey won the 100 meters just days after announcing plans to retire after the 2000 Olympics.
Donovan crossed the finish line at the Notturna outdoor meet in 10.16 seconds.
Bailey, who said prior to the meet he aimed to go under 10 seconds, is still recovering from a recent injury to his Achilles tendon. He said his main objective before retiring is to win the world title at the 1999 world championships in Seville, Spain.
